Fr. Wayne Edwards started with JPC in August 2019. Fr. Wayne’s role with JPC is Chaplain (part-time) to celebrate Mass and other liturgies, to visit members of the Deaf Community and give support to the community and staff at JPC.

Fr. Wayne enjoys working with the Deaf Community. The community and staff are friendly, welcoming, patient (given he has no previous experience with deaf people) and encouraging to him. He says that he has learnt much from them and working with them has helped him in his work as Parish Priest at Heidelberg West.

Fr. Wayne was born and raised in Victoria. He has been Parish Priest of St Pius X, Heidelberg West for 14 years. He has undertaken and completed Level 1 of Auslan with Expression Australia and is in the process of undertaking Level 2 sometime this year. His hobbies are going to the movies, building models and has found an interest in Gardening
