Elder Abuse

Current Projects

Elder Abuse is any act which causes harm to an older person and is often carried out by someone they know and trust, such as family and friends. Deaf community members can be more vulnerable to elder abuse and JPC works with Seniors Rights Victoria (SRV) from the Council on the Ageing (COTA).

JPC and SRV partnered to create brochures aimed at Deaf community members to support their understanding of Elder Abuse and how to get support when needed. There is also a video from a Deaf community member providing information in Auslan for the community.
