Religious Signs

Communion

The sign above refers to what is called holy communion, in which Christians are given bread which they believe to be the body of Jesus. Holy communion usually takes place during the celebration of the Eucharist (Mass), during which the bread is consecrated. Holy communion is also given outside of the celebration of the Eucharist. The most common situation is when it is brought to people who are sick.
