Gail Finn works at John Pierce Centre for 17 years as a Pastoral Admin Assistant and Liturgy Co-ordinator. She is totally deaf since birth. She attended a Catholic deaf school at Portsea. Her first communication method was Oralism. But she started to learn Auslan (Australian Sign Language) and the Deaf culture when she was 18 years old. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in the United States in 1994. While she was there, she took some American Sign Language (ASL) studies.
Gail is very involved with the Catholic Deaf community. Her role is to prepare Auslan Masses at John Pierce Centre and to assist lectors to sign reading and prayers in Auslan.
